GRAND ISLAND, Neb. (KSNB) - There's a new monitoring well in place in front of the Nebraska Building at the Nebraska State Fairgrounds. Theh well was given by the Nebraska Well Drillers Association for the Central Platte NRD and Grand Island Groundwater Guardian team. On Tuesday, it was used to educate water engineers and drillers on how the drill works, and it will continue to educate fairgoers as well. It is also a working well, so it will send back data to the Central Platte NRD which will be used to monitor groundwater levels.
